Your Introduction to Hungary’s Beloved Street Food
Ever had fried dough with sour cream and cheese slathered on top of it? Most haven’t if they’ve never been to Hungary. But lángos is considered a traditional must-try when in the country. I had the opportunity to visit Lángos-mester in 2018 when I visited Tokaj for a weekend, staying at some different inns and checking out the wineries.
While I’ve personally never been one to go out of my way and eat lángos, I must admit this place had delicious lángos and had out of this world palacsinta – sweet Hungarian dessert crêpes.

Hole-in-the-Wall Charm with Outdoor Vibes
The food was delicious, the staff fantastic and the ambiance really quaint as there is only outdoor seating and nothing inside except the bakers themselves slaving away in a tiny hole-in-the-wall kitchen.
Grab your food to go at their window right on the street, and either have a seat admiring the tourists going to and fro, or take your lángos with you as you head to your next wine bar or cellar to do some tasting for the day.
