Baltazar Boutique Hotel & Grill – Budapest, Hungary

Welcome to the Baltazar Boutique Hotel, which has been operating since 2012. The stylish, modern hotel is a product of the Zsidai group, which owns and operates several other establishments in Budapest. Some of these places include the Jamie Oliver Italian Restaurant, The Pest-Buda Hotel, and the Pest-Buda Bistro. But these are just a few great places you can frequent when you’re in the Buda Castle district. The Baltazar itself is a gem Budapest received, and to great reception.

In total, The Baltazar Hotel has only 11 rooms, but they’re all themed, and all very cool. One of these rooms includes the luxury loft suite.

While the main area of the suite has enough space to fit a village, the spare bedroom has a very cozy feel. The beauty of the loft suite, is that it is designed for two types of travelers. For those of you looking for privacy and relaxation, the smaller bedroom is ideal. And for those of you who might want to do some entertaining, the larger, more spacious room is perfect.

There are 3 televisions throughout the entire loft, and if you’re not interested in watching TV, just look out the enormous windows. You’ll have a chance to see the charming cafe they have attached to the hotel outside, and the quiet, charming street where the hotel is located.

The decor may flirt with funk a bit, but it’s tasteful in its own way. Think 90’s hip-hop clashed with a millionaire’s personal library.

The room doesn’t just have two double beds, a sofa, two resting chairs, a luxurious and spacious bathroom (complete with a separate and private toilet room including bidet), but it also has a Blue Tooth music system in the master bedroom.

And it’s not just the bigger touches that are nice, it’s also the smaller ones. The downstairs area is all carpeted (a rarity in most parts of Hungary), and there’s even a little night-light on the wall. The night-light is always on, and is handy coming down the small staircase at night.

You’ll find that comfort is not the only thing they’ve thought of. High quality of food is also important to the management at Baltazar. Having been able to indulge in two separate breakfasts, I was pleased to find that everything and anything I ordered was delectable and worth having more than once.

Upon arriving at the Baltazar Hotel, you’re immersed in an overwhelming sense of being in a stereotypical European setting. With an old-world, albeit Parisian-style, outdoor cafe & restaurant, you’ll think you’ve stepped into the past. But in a good way.

From check-in until you step foot in your themed boutique hotel room, you’re given the highest quality of service. The staff is friendly and always at your disposal for anything. Reception may close at 11 pm, but guests are given a key to the front door. Guests may come and go, therefore, at their leisure, as late as they please. It’s very clear while staying at the Baltazar, high expectations of service, friendliness, taste, class, and cleanliness are met with no exceptions to the rule. Anything you may desire, the personnel is always there for you, no matter what you may need.

Just around the corner from Pierrot restaurant, where they have fine dining and are also affiliated with the Zsidai group, The Baltazar is the perfect place to have a relaxing and enjoyable dinner before heading back to your fancy suite.

The hotel is also conveniently located in the Buda Castle district, just a few blocks from the epic view of the Danube River, Parliament and the Chain Bridge – the latter two of which are gorgeous by night when lit up.

And while you’re in the area, don’t forget to stop at some of the conveniently located souvenir shops that are scattered along the quaint streets of Buda!

Just make sure that when you do stay at Baltazar Hotel, you let them know that Lisa sent you!
