A Spin on Italian in Hungary
Normally, I wouldn’t recommend having anything but Hungarian food while in Budapest, but in this case, I will make an exception. I would also say that if you’re wanting authentic Italian food, you should just go to Italy. But again, in this particluar instance, it’s Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, and well, he’s famous for a reason.
Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant is located in the castle district of the country’s capital, which is one of the swankiest parts of the city. You won’t find any bad food here – nothing. From their pastas, steaks, to their desserts and cocktails; everything that Jamie Oliver’s has on offer is something that needs to be tried and appreciated.
The restaurant’s décor is likewise something unique and fun. Lively and full of excitement, the layout is modern and eclectic. With enough room to fit hundreds at once, the modern, open concept for the architecture is a creative, fun and energetic approach to American influenced Italian cuisine.
The wait staff is friendly, the location impeccable, and the food noteworthy. Prices are going to be on the slightly higher side, simply given the renowned fame of Oliver, his level of style, attention to carefully crafted recipes, and of course, the restaurant’s hot spot for tourist activity.

Within just a few steps of the Fisherman’s Bastion, and Matthias Catholic Church, Jamie Oliver’s is the perfect place for those who are seeking a more refined dining experience, where drinks and kids are both a part of the environment.
And if you’re looking for a good place to stay that’s close by to Jamie’s, you might want to check out the luxury apartment I stayed in directly above the restaurant in the same building. Owned and operated by the famous Pest-Buda Hotel, the luxury apartment has all the high-end amenities anyone with a flexible budget could desire.

Of course, when dining at Jamie Oliver’s, don’t forget to check out their spectacular meats that hang from the kitchen pick up counter. Adding to the restaurant’s overall atmosphere, it makes for a great photo-op.
Just make sure that when you do visit Jamie Oliver’s Italian, you let them know that Lisa sent you!
