Mouth-Watering Flavors in a Hidden Hungarian Village
Some places have good food, while others have great food. And Oroszlános is one of those places.
Hungarian food is almost always delicious no matter where you go within the country of its origin. But some places just have a very unique spin on those dishes. Some taste the most classic and authentic that you can ask for, and some add a little bit of something extra to them to make it their own.
But Oroszlános doesn’t stray far from the authenticity and delicacy that is Hungarian food. With some of the best main dishes you’ll try in the country and some of the most mouth-watering desserts you can come across, there isn’t anything at this restaurant that you shouldn’t try.
While I only had the opportunity to visit their restaurant (twice, in fact, because it was so delicious), I did not get the chance to stay at their hotel, both of which are offered here. The restaurant also has tons of wines on offer (not surprising as they are in the heart of the wine region of Hungary), so make sure to have a few sips of something along with your meal – you will not be disappointed!
When in Tállya you must take the opportunity to visit for lunch or dinner. Located right next door to the Bártfay Guesthouse, it’s the perfect place to try those classics before heading back over to your guesthouse to soak up the sauna and have some private wine tasting in Bártfay’s cellar.
