Wayback Burgers & Skipper’s – Woodland, Washington, USA

Skipper’s is one of the greatest fast food restaurants of all time…this coupled with Wayback Burgers is like a little piece of heaven…at a Chevron gas station.

Wayback Burgers will take you back…way back. Way back to a time when burgers were authentically fresh and yummy and not made to taste like your generic run-of-the-mill fast food joint. And the beauty of Wayback is that it’s not fast food, though it may give off that appearance. Especially considering that it’s located at a Chevron gas station, right off an exit on the freeway. But herein lies the beauty of Wayback. When you’re on the road and need some good grub to get your energy up – Wayback makes it convenient for you to stop in and have a quick bite to eat. While it’s only been open since April of 2017, the atmosphere, delicious recipes and friendly service will make you feel like they’ve been around a lot longer!

With the decor giving off the charming feeling of a 1950s-like burger shop, it’s even more so the taste of the burgers that’ll make you feel like you’ve gone back in time!

Wayback features their most spectacular creation which is the “Triple Triple” burger, which has approximately 12 hamburger patties, and 6 slices of cheddar cheese. The burger is so deliciously gooey and hot that the bottom bun actually melted away by the time I got my lips around it. And far be it from me to refuse trying some of their other burgers and shakes. If you’re in the mood for something really traditionally American, go with their hot dog which you can custom order. I went with mustard and pickles, because…that’s the way I roll. Their horseradish burger is surprisingly great, and their fish burger is right up there too – but you may not want to do fish, due to what’s right next door inside the same gas station…

Not only does this Chevron offer the most delicious burgers around, but it also has one of the greatest fast food restaurants inside too: Skipper’s. Yes, if you’re in the mood for seafood, instead of good ole’ fashioned burgers and fries (or their specialty, which is “O” fries), Skipper’s is right there for you as well.

Definitely try their clam chowder bread bowl, or my personal favorite, their 4-piece fish ‘n chips basket. You won’t be sorry. The only problem with this gas station though, is that eventually you will have to leave. And leave full you most certainly will, just as I did!

Though an unconventional location, the food here is a must try! Just make sure that when you stop in to either (or both) the Skipper’s and Wayback Burgers, you let them know that Lisa sent you!
