Located in the Jewish quarter of Budapest, Fülemüle Étterem (restaurant) is a perfect example of old school Hungarian Jewish food, mixed with simple traditional Hungarian dishes. The two being available on the same menu is a great way for tourists, and ex-pats alike to try a variation of both.

Opening in the early 1990s, the restaurant has stayed successful ever since. Though many don’t realize it, the Jewish Quarter of Budapest is its own lively hot spot for cuisine, museums and more. Making Fülemüle just one more place to stop in and visit while you’re in Budapest.
I had the opportunity to visit the restaurant twice over the course of a couple of days, and got a taste of several different dishes. Starting out with several Jewish dishes, the following day was spent devouring the Hungarian classics that anyone would love. And Fülemüle does a great job of executing each of the dishes on their menu.

With average restaurant prices for Budapest, a unique atmosphere, busier in the evenings than at lunch time, you’re sure to find something tasty to eat, and a good time for you to dine. Just make sure that when you do stop in to have your meal, you let them know that Lisa sent you!
