Meet the Owners
Veronica and Nuno, a husband and wife duo who have partnered up to create this unique business together, have spent the last 4 years remodeling apartments. The young 30-something couple decided to get into the business in 2015 because the first building they remodeled had already been in the family for many years. They had the goal of renovating it in order to rent it out to tourists – and the idea was brilliant.
At the time, it was a bit risky for them, considering that Porto was not the hot tourist destination that it is now. But with patience, ingenuity and savvy business smarts, Veronica convinced her father-in-law to keep the property within the family so that they could make their ambitious dream a reality.
Fast forward to today (summer of 2019), and they not only have that apartment to offer guests coming to visit the bustling Portuguese city, but 4 other units as well. Out of the 5 units they own, several of them have living and dining rooms. But all of their units include 2-bedrooms, 2-bathrooms, luxury kitchens and of course stylish decor.
They humbly consider themselves fortunate to have the units they do, considering that it’s very difficult to find apartments of the size theirs offer in the greater Porto area.
Clients
Vitoria Clerigos sees their fair share of guests, and from all over the world too. All of their clientele so far has been foreign, with guests coming from countries such as South America, Asia and even the United States.
While the couple have no accommodation in other cities around Portugal, they would however like to invest in some more units in Porto. Good news for guests who can’t seem to find availability in their already popular apartments.
And me? Well, I was privileged enough to be the very first guest to stay at their newest addition after they finished with renovations. And what a privilege it was indeed to stay here!
Newest Unit
The house still had that new smell. You know, kind of like a new car? The decor of the unit was designed in a Bali type of theme, giving the guest the illusion that you’re in the tropics, rather than on the European west coast. It’s quite a feat when some colors and furniture can make you feel relaxed.
With stunning interior design, you feel chic and classy just sitting in the kitchen eating leftovers. Both beds are very comfortable, and have the best bedspreads. Each unit being uniquely designed, the style in every unit is meant to stand out and be unique to each separate apartment. Because the owners have such particular taste, the interior designer they work with makes sure that it’s not just appealing to the guests, but also to Veronica and Nuno.
Notably unique are the lights that come on automatically along the staircase when you come near it. Why mess with light switches in the middle of the night, when your feet can simply turn the light on by coming toward the landing. A terribly creative and handy little extra, it’s those small details that make for big impressions.
Location
The location of all their units is absolutely ideal. Given that they are right in the heart of Porto, you are within walking distance of all the most important sites. You’re also close to any and all restaurants and shops that you would want to visit. Guests rave about the ideal spot the owners have chosen to set up their luxury vacation rentals. This is perhaps the best part about Vitoria Clérigos, given that there’s no risk of getting lost, when you are right near all the famous attractions.
Modern Conveniences
And did I mention the incredible bathrooms? It’s not just the style and design that make these units so special and beautiful. It’s also the remodeling that they’ve done throughout the entire unit. With luxurious showers, beautiful wash basins, and incredible lighting this might be the best part of the apartment. And because of how genuinely calm the vibe is from the decor, you may never want to leave.
With modern facilities in the kitchen too, don’t worry about going out to eat. If you like, you can dine in by using the high tech microwave, stove or oven. The entire house and apartments are fully-equipped, and you will not want for anything while staying at Vitoria Clerigos.

And prices? Get ready to be happy. For a stunning and luxurious place like the ones they have, the prices are really quite reasonable. Obviously high season is going to also bring higher prices, but not as high as you may think. Since the property is brand new, they are offering a great price in the high season. At roughly 140 Euro a night, it’s a steal of a deal for anyone who wants to vacation in style.
It’s clear that you are ready to reserve your apartment at Vitoria Clerigos. And who can blame you? That’s where I’m planning to stay the next time I’m in the beautiful world-famous city! But just make sure when you book your stay, you let them know Lisa sent you!
