If you happen to be in the greater Aveiro area of Portugal and you need to get your hair done, then make sure to stop in at Gueros Hair Salon.
While staying at Slide Surf Camp in the same small town, I needed a wash and dry – and bad. After surfing (badly) in the Atlantic for a couple days straight, my hair was an abomination of sorts, and needed a feminine touch.
When I stopped in at Gueros, they were not only some of the friendliest people I’d run across in Portugal, but some of the most talented too.
The wonderful experience began with one of the gals shampooing and massaging my scalp for about 15 minutes nonstop. It was so great, and just thinking about it now, makes me want to book a flight back to Portugal just to have them do that!
My hairdresser Rosa, was so friendly and talented in doing my blow out – even my surf coach was impressed, as you can hear him at the end of the video!
The overall experience here was fantastic, and I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting (or even living) in the area. Prices will undoubtedly be better here than in Aveiro proper, as this is not as much a touristy destination as the bigger city. Just make sure that when you do stop in for your exciting hair experience, you let them know that Lisa sent you!
