There’s no better way to explore the surrounding areas of Monte Argentario than with Biba Boats.
Established in 1982, owner Giancarlo is a man who knows his boats, and loves his region. For those who are unfamiliar with the area, Biba Boats is located officially in the tiny town of Orbetello, which is a seaport town in the municipality of Monte Argentario. Basically, it’s like it’s own little island still connected to the mainland of Italy – but just by a hair.
These small towns that are right next to each other, including Orbetello, Monte Argentario and Porto Santo Stefano are all in the southern part of Tuscany. And when one thinks of Tuscany, they are more likely to think of rolling hills rather than water and yachts.
Biba Boats floats in to help people realize the greater beauty of Tuscany, by offering boats to rent and host private tours around the Laguna di Orbetello (Orbetello Lagoon). The Lagoon, which is a part of the Tyrrhenian Sea, is one of the most lovely spots you’ll find in the area, with stunning views, and scope out beautiful neighboring towns from the water.
My experience with Biba Boats was highly enjoyable. Giancarlo was delightfully friendly and professional, and explained so much of the area to me as he guided me around.
The most interesting and fun fact (for me anyway) to learn, was when he told me he toured Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise around when they were still married back in the ’90s.
In general, you’re not going to find a cooler experience while in Orbetello, than renting with Biba Boats. Just make sure that when you do book your rental or private tour, you let them know Lisa sent you!
