Don’t cross Ristorante Da Nello Al Montegrappa off your list by any means. They have some of the tastiest food in the whole city.

Most people probably don’t know it, but the classic Italian dishes most of us have come to love and enjoy on a regular basis originate in Bologna. The epicenter for traditional Italian cuisine is the birthplace of Lasagna and of course, Bolognese – also known as ragu.
Tortellini is suspected to have come from Bologna as well, but there is debate over whether it actually comes from Modena, a city not too far away. Naturally, Bologna which in Italy is actually called Mortadella, originates here from the city with the same name, and there is plenty of San Giovese wine to go around the metroplex as well.

Ristorante Da Nello Al Montegrappa provides a long array of choices off their menu of traditional cuisine to stay in step with the tourists’ hankering for the most well known favorites, and they have a few other things you might not suspect to find here. Namely, seafood.
The ambiance at Da Nello is also something to be mentioned. With a basement-like feel, the tone inside the restaurant is old-fashioned and very in line with the Bolognese approach of arches and lighting.

Staff is friendly and efficient, and the tone is lively and busy. With plenty of accommodation inside, they also have an outdoor area if you’re so inclined to dine al fresco.

Located right in the heart of the city center, it is the perfect spot to do some site-seeing and shopping while you’re in the “red city” as Italians like to call it.
Just make sure that when you do stop in to Da Nello, you let them know that Lisa sent you!
