Meet Melanie
Starting her career in hair 35 years ago, the Dallas born and bred Melanie is a seasoned veteran as a coiffure. Getting her license right out of high school, she was in the midst of attending college for business when the magic started.
With a talent spanning several decades, there is nothing that the skillful Melanie can’t or won’t do. With a flare for color, highlighting, cuts and simply stunning blow-outs – she loves it all. And though she loves to do hair extensions, she says her absolute favorite thing to do is a total transformation on a client.
“I personally focus on hair services which include everything from precision cutting coloring, highlighting, extensions ,and custom styling,” Melanie beams. Her approach to hairdos is fast, efficient, fun and making the client feel at home. All things we can appreciate in a good hair stylist.
Having owned and operated a previous Image Nation in Plano, she has now been running her current salon in Allen for the past 11 years. With her eye on opening up a new salon in the near future, we’re all anxious to find out where the location will be. But there’s a lot more to this salon than meets the eye…
What’s On Offer
While Image Nation is a large collection of salon suites, it also operates as an open floor salon as well. Hiring assistants who are fresh out of cosmetology school, she trains them to work on the floor. She helps them build their clientele and move into their own suites gradually once they’ve matured in their work and are ready.

These gracious men and women offer a plethora of different services to dazzle you and keep you content – until you come back for your next appointment, that is. Some of the techniques they dabble in include nail and pedicure services, waxing and facials. You could also try some laser hair removal, Botox injections, photo facials, oxygen therapy and IV therapy. And last but not least, you might also want to try the sculpt pod…the most popular service Image Nation has on offer.

My Experience at Image Nation
There is no question that when you enter into Image Nation you are surrounded by a lot of beauty and a lot of hairspray. And a lot of other great smelling products on offer. But my personal experience at Image Nation was something else. The lovely Melanie did my hair, while her colleague and receptionist Emily took care of my waxing needs. In fact, Emily did one of the best jobs on shaping my eyebrows anyone has ever done.
Melanie’s hair expertise though was the show stealer the two times I went in for her to take charge of those roots and split ends. My root touch up, partial highlight wash and blow out will run any new customer $140, and the up-do upwards of $65. All worth the time and money, Melanie is quite sincerely one of the best hairstylists I’ve ever worked with in the world. Her precision, accuracy, style and technique are quite incredible. The talent is very evident in her work, but also in her quick hands and the ease in which she approaches the work in front of her.
Her goal is to make her customers happy, both her long-term, loyal clients, and the new ones who walk in, like me.
