It’s not everyday that you find such a hidden gem such as Across the Street Bistro in a small little town like Corsicana. In fact, I think it’s safe to assume that when it comes to Corsicana itself, you won’t find another restaurant like Andreas’.
The bistro boasts some of the most unique, sophisticated and foreign flavors that you will find around. Including, but not limited to Chilean Seabass, Escargot, and imported wines. And there’s a whole lot more to the menu than you might think.
With an array of choices, Across the Street Bistro by Andreas is full of flavor, texture, and the plates plentiful. Which may be one of the reasons why the prices are kept at a higher rate. That’s not to say it’s not justified. After all, the Greek chef works tiresome hours, has a full house most nights of the week, and has been doing this line of work for many years.
His talent is certainly shown in the creations he has on offer every evening at the bistro. And the execution, creativity and nuance to each of the dishes is quite good.
But if you really want to know what to order, make sure it’s the steak and the seabass – they will make you fall in love with his cooking. Because of these two dishes alone (okay, okay, and the creamed spinach), you will drive from far and wide just to find this little hole-in-the-wall of a restaurant.
And those cocktails? That’s right, get ready for some of the best in the state. Their talented bartender will blow you away with his inventive concoctions and tempt you to sit at the bar all night watching him work. Go for the Bangkok Sunrise. One of the most delicious cocktails I’ve had this year (and possibly ever), his talents are certainly not lacking. In fact, he’ll spend some time getting to know your pallet before even starting on your very own personally inspired drink. The kind of bartender every girl wants to know…
