Taxi Mom – Dallas, Texas

Established in 2004, consider Taxi Mom a private transfer company…just for your kids.

Wanting to service her community, Yolanda Stevenson is the owner and founder of this great company. Taxi Mom is a private transfer service specifically designed to shuttle kids back and forth to and from school throughout the week safely.

Starting the company with the initial intention for her family, it has now grown over the past 16 years into something she most likely never imagined. Though the genesis of the idea was small, it has evolved into a local service for many different families in the greater area – not just her own – with the love for children first and foremost in her mind.

Yolanda makes it clear that this is nothing like Uber, or Lyft, because students have the same driver each time they use their service. This should give parents some assurance in knowing who their child is with and for how long.

What sets Taxi Mom apart from other services in the area that may be somewhat similar, is the personal touch. They encourage kids to text or call their parents when they get to school to let them know they arrived safely. Another cool feature is that Taxi Mom has developed an app as well.

With 10 vehicles at the moment, Taxi Mom has additionally sold 4 franchises as well, making them even more of a success than when they initially started. And with over 600 clients currently, we know they’re a popular service in DFW.

My experience with Taxi Mom was smooth, comfortable and extremely hospitable. Yolanda’s fleet of vans are perfect for large groups, and I felt safe and sound with the pouring rain early in the morning headed to Love Field.

If you’re living in the greater DFW area, and you have a need to have your kids escorted to school in a safe vehicle with reliable and friendly drivers, then Taxi Mom is your best bet. Just make sure when you book your child’s ride, you let them know Lisa sent you!
