The Victoria Restaurant

The Victoria Restaurant – Farmers Branch, Texas

It was 9 years ago when The Victoria opened in the northwestern little suburb of Dallas known as Farmers Branch. In a very residential neighborhood, The Victoria is the best restaurant on the block. The owners, Francis Alvarado and Azael Valdez, have both respectively had years of experience in the restaurant industry. Francis having been both a manager and a well-known chef in her former years, Azael has been in the restaurant business for a decade.

With what they self-describe as authentic Mexican fare, there are some distinct and unique flavors on offer at The Victoria. While the most popular dish with local customers may be the Parrillada Grilled Steak Fajita, it’s the nachos that had me begging for more. Topped with incredible refried beans, mixed cheeses, fajita beef and spices out of this world – that’s the dish you’ll want to order time and time again when dining at The Victoria.  And their specialty dish, named after the owner herself is their “Francis”. A grilled Ribeye with jumbo shrimp it’s served with a specialty sauce that customers are wild about.

Just make sure you save room for dessert – the fried ice cream is unlike anything you’ve ever had before!

On average, the restaurant sees about 100 customers per day – which is saying something during the crisis that has befallen the economy right now. Not only that, but on the weekends, they get in roughly 200 bodies give or take. With their most popular drinks being their Margaritas and Piña coladas, I can testify that the latter of the two is worth dropping in for.

What’s unique and very special about The Victoria, is the fact that they can accommodate large gatherings, such as wedding receptions and parties up to 300 people.  Sundays being their busiest day of the week, they are always open for brunch and mimosas – surely a favorite for any regular Sunday goer. Catering is also available upon request at The Victoria, and many do take advantage of the offer.

But perhaps the best part about The Victoria is the friendly wait staff.  Each server is always eager in pleasing their guests, no matter the occasion or the time of day.

So why not stop in at The Victoria the next time you are in Farmers Branch? Their nachos are to die for, their Pina Coladas delicious…and the rest of their food? Well, you’ll just have to see for yourself! Just make sure that when you do stop in, you let them know that Lisa sent you!
