Lighthouse Restaurant

The Lighthouse Restaurant – Cedar Lake, Indiana

The Lighthouse in Cedar Lake Indiana doesn’t just have some delectable dishes on offer. They also have one of the most picturesque spots to gaze out upon while you’re sipping your signature cocktail or eating your fried calamari. So stop by The Lighthouse where you will discover great flavors, a lively atmosphere, with a chic vibe.

When staying in Northern Indiana, you might be hard pressed to find stylish and classy restaurant that checkmarks all of your boxes. The Lighthouse however, might be just what you’re looking for. With items on their menu like Chilean Seabass, Walleye, and salmon, there’s not much you won’t be able to find in the way of seafood.   From their appetizers to their desserts, there is a little bit of everything you will be able to enjoy and still have an eye full from any part of the restaurant you’re seated in to enjoy the glorious view that they have on offer.

Cedar Lake, which is also the name of the town, is a gorgeous little body of water that the restaurant sits beside.  In any kind of weather, it’s a serene escape for the mind and soul – but what’s better than enjoying the view while you have a savory lunch or dinner? The Lighthouse makes that happen with one of their many dishes that they have at the restaurant.

And while you will be hard pressed to find a dish that doesn’t sound great, their wine list might even be longer than their food options. But make sure you don’t leave the restaurant without trying their signature cocktail – the Lighthouse Punch.  Indeed, it packs a lot of punch, but also a lot of taste.

The prices at The Lighthouse are certainly above average, but that is to be expected at an establishment such as this. With portions adequate to satisfy your hunger, and excellent wait staff, your experience at The Lighthouse is meant to be memorable.

The Lighthouse also caters to events, and was in the middle of one the evening I found myself there as well. Set up for a wedding reception that night, The Lighthouse is able to accommodate parties and offers catering services as well.

Of course you want to know what kind of food we’re talking about when it comes to The Lighthouse. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that with the nautical theme they have going on all around the restaurant, the food would stay in line. The seafood is ample, but you can also find a few things as an alternative to fish if you’re not a huge seafood fan and find yourself at the restaurant. Try their Brush Creek Ranch Wagyu Burger for example, which was my second favorite thing there that night. With a juicy texture and great flavor to boot, the burger is a great option for picky kids or someone who wants the turf instead of the surf.

By far and away the best dish I tried that evening was the Shrimp Alfredo.  Large shrimp, fresh garlic, cream and aged parmesan all mixed together with fettucine. Talk about delicious! Perhaps the best pasta alfredo I have ever had, this is the dish no one should miss out on when visiting The Lighthouse. Additionally, their fried calamari was very tasty, and for sure their best appetizer is their warm crab dip.

And if it’s a great dessert you’re in the mood for, I would definitely recommend their warm chocolate chip cookie sundae. However, if you’re a grown up skip the cookie and go with their bourbon milkshake!

One of the coolest desserts (both figuratively and literally).  You will feel relaxed and have your sugar tooth satisfied all at once.

So what are you waiting for? You know you want to dine at this casually chic restaurant the next time you are in the Cedar Lake area. Just a hop, skip and jump from Chicago, you might want to take the drive out to enjoy the great environment that The Lighthouse has to offer.

Just make sure that when you do stop in, you let them know that Lisa sent you!
