Adriana isn’t just your average hairstylist. She’s got flare, pazaz and a lot of hardworking motivation. Her drive and talent was recognized in November of 2009 when she became a licensed professional.
When asked where her love for the art came from, she tells me about her childhood.
“I remember admiring my mom as she worked to get licensed and when she did, I would follow her around and just watch. I grew up to love doing hair. As a little girl I always did up my barbie and other dolls’ hair. Then I started to style my sisters’ hair, then my cousins’, then eventually my friends’.”
Growing up in the Chicagoland area, she always had the goal of running her own business.
“Maturing and being in school, the idea of owning and running my own business, I knew I wanted that. I went to college with a business degree in accounting. But because I didn’t want to get stuck in the corporate world, I decided that to go to Regency Beauty Institute. It came easy to me and I grew to fall in love knowing I made people feel beautiful.
From there I wanted more! So I continued to study further in the cosmetology world. I studied for about 6 months at MR 312 in downtown Chicago. This trained me to in how to treat my customers right, and how to keep moving forward. This was definitely a hard lesson because I had to grow confident, and come out of my shell. I learned speed, I learned color, an I learned how to run and manage a business. And now I own my own salon in Highland, Indiana.”
Adriana’s passion is not limited to just color and cuts though. Her real love is for updos and for quinceaneras and weddings. She books parties and makes sure to deliver a smooth, fun and peaceful experience to all of her clients.
“My goal for each client is to feel like they are at a spa getaway,” she goes on to say that she wants them to feel peach, joy, comfort and beauty when they are with her. And, that they become more knowledgeable in hair and hair product while at her salon.
“I believe it’s necessary for clients to understand the importance of what they use and why. Everyone is different so no one product works the same. That is why I teach my clients product knowledge and how and when to use it.”
Her Work Ethic
Lest anyone think Adriana doesn’t work hard, nothing could be further from the truth. The woman works 4-5 days out of the week and 6-8 hours a day. With morning and evening appointments available, she works by appointment only. This gives her some dlexibility for many clients and families. She also has online scheduling available so that her clients can easily edit their appointments without any hassle.
She not only tries to make it easy and comfortable for her clients but cost efficient for everyone involved. Her motivation stays the same – to keep her clients happy. All the time.
Services
With services for men, women and children alike – they all range in type. She offers, haircuts, styling, updos, tape-in extensions, color, Brazilian blowouts, and waxing. Foilayage and balayage are her signature looks with beautiful waves and results.
Haircuts range in prices between $20-50 and for other prices, you’ll have to give her a call on the phone to get that info. Just be careful though. She’s super nice and you may not ever want to stop talking to her.
My Experience at Studio Eleven87
Because of my skin condition that I’ve mentioned in the past, it’s difficult to find products that work well for my scalp. However, a new conditioner that I fell in love with thanks to Adriana is the Tea Tree Lavender Conditioner by Paul Mitchell. Refreshing and with an incredible fragrance, I was hooked before she even finished rinsing out my hair that day.
And the look? With her talented eye, she changed my broken down baliage into a new do. Darker and with lowlights this time around, I was definitely a new woman.
Another product that I couldn’t leave the salon without was Joico Dream Blowout. Adriana describes it as giving you,
“…a smooth, frizz free and soft finish. A completing look and added protection and shine, you can use it along side Joico Care Oil Serum or Pravana Gloss.”
