The Radius may be the coolest place in town, but it’s their eclectic menu and stellar cocktails that keep them circling!
The Full Radius
Don’t think for a minute that Radius is a big, over the top, chain establishment with rushed staff and under quality items. That would be the complete antithesis from what it actually is. The restaurant having only been open a short time, has blown not just customers away, but the press too. Having been garnered Northwest Indiana’s Restaurant of the year, two years in a row now, the owner and chef Chris has received innumerable accolades in its young existence.
With a wall full of family memorabilia and homage to his past, Chris Pavlou is a hospitable owner with an attractive business. Contemporary, stylish, and sexy décor line the walls, bar, stools, and tables of the establishment.
Modern music plays throughout the evening, and a mass of guests congregate during his rush hours to partake in some of the most delicious food in Valporaiso. And while there are a dandy dozen of restaurants of all sorts that neighbor him left and right, Radius might just be the best food you haven’t tried in town.

The ambiance is of course one thing, after all, it’s the main attraction that lures people into the restaurant’s grip. But the real squeeze are those drinks and the menu items. With a long list of just about every kind of American fare you can think of, there is also a zesty and creative on several international items you might not be expecting.
Why It’s Worth It
The appetizers in some respect outdo the entrees. With a presentation that is not at all to be dismissed, the colors draw you in, and the flavors make you fall in love.

When someone can make cauliflower taste sweet and flavorful – they are doing something right. Being of Greek decent, his signature appetizer is a nod to his roots. The Grilled Greek Chicken Plate is simply bursting with perfect flavors and actually better than some that I had in Greece.

But if you want the best thing on the menu, don’t miss out on the Baja Tacos. This was most definitely my favorite dish out of everything (including the entrees which came later). The shrimp was prepared perfectly and the sauce on top not only married beautifully with the rest of the dish but was simply heavenly in flavor.
This is not to suggest that any of the appetizers weren’t delicious – because everything was. Fresh, creative and just as the name suggests, everything was appetizing.
The entrees were just as unique in creativity, flavor and execution as well. The Fettuccini Alfredo was a favorite of mine, followed by the Keto Burger, and the Barramundi Fish Sandwich.

This was my second time having Barramundi, but prepared in a completely different way. The unique flavor of the fish definitely stands out compared to other types of seafood that is often used for fish sandwiches.

And the drinks? They might very well have been the highlight of the evening. The drinks are a perfect compliment to the style, vibe and look of the restaurant. These snazzy drinks are affordable, creative and highly delicious! Some of the best I’ve had in my travels over the past several months, and I would go back to Radius just based on the drinks alone. Luckily though, that wasn’t the only thing I loved about the restaurant.
With a friendly staff, a stellar chef, a creative menu and a beautiful upscale casual chic environment, there are many different reasons to be a frequent guest of the Radius.

So what are you waiting for? You know you want to try one of their signature burgers, their “Downtown Stroll” cocktail and be one of the guests at one of the most upcoming and hippest joints in town. Just make sure that when you do stop in for some fantastic grub and booze, you let them know Lisa sent you!
