Brooks Burgers may be the best food you’ve never known about in all of Southwest Florida. From their signature burgers to their classic Fish n’ Chips and their out of this world cocktails, the restaurant has been thriving for a while and owner Scott knows a thing or two about how to keep his guests happy – whether they be newcomers like me, or regular customers.
Their Unique Flavor
With a knack for service, grandiose desserts, and the most delicious food you can think of, this grill and tavern located in a strip mall in Naples, Florida, is maybe the last place you would think to have the best food in the area, but you’d be wrong. A very short menu they may have, but the amount of flavor and taste packed into every mouthful of goodness is certainly there is no shortage of here.
Starting with my favorite item on the menu that I tried while visiting this laid-back yet large location of Brooks Burgers’, their Fish n’ Chips absolutely stole the show for me. Beer-battered to perfection, this was the best version of the classic British favorite that I’ve had in years.
Coming in at a close second were their House Smoked St. Louis Ribs. Oh. My. Gosh. These were so tender they were falling off the bone before I could even get them in my mouth. The moment they touched my lips they were already dissolving. The sweetness, the tenderness and the deliciousness of these ribs put me into another stratosphere of delight, and I would go back to Brooks just based on these ribs and the fish n’ chips alone. Both were executed outstandingly, and coupled perfectly with the two incredible cocktails I was given that afternoon.
And their signature dish is something you might want to give a go. Their donut burger is something else. To glazed donuts with a beef patty in between, smothered in cheese and topped with bacon – it’s a heart attack in your hand, but what a way to go!
The fun doesn’t stop here though. With all kinds of goodies for lunch, I was then surprised to learn Brooks Grill & Tavern also has an ice cream parlor on site. Yes, that’s right. In the far west corner of the restaurant, they have a 31-flavors type of set up. While there may not be as many choices as the famous ice cream chain has, they certainly have plenty to choose from and there’s no shortage of deliciousness here either.
The ice cream you don’t want to miss out on while you’re there is ‘”C” is for Cookie’. When I told my waiter,
“That looks and sounds like something the Cookie Monster would eat,” he responded with,
“That’s why it’s named that – because of Cookie Monster.”
In the color blue, this concoction has a plethora of cookie goodness going on, and could quite possibly be one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had the opportunity to try. In fact, just thinking about it now makes me want to fly back to Florida just to have more!
And their most entertaining dessert that I tried? Their Celebration Shake. Though they have a few to try from, you will have fun watching them role it out possibly even more than eating it. The one I had was laced with a Diabetic Coma-like amount of sugar. From the brownie to the triple ice cream scoops, to the whipped cream, to the marshmallows to the cinnamon to the syrup to the candy…to whatever else they put on there that I can’t even remember now – it was just a lot of sugar. You will definitely not have any trouble staying awake after taking just a few bites of this mammoth dessert.
Why You Need to Eat & Drink Here
The service is exceptional here at Brooks Burgers. From their GM to my waiter, I had more than a pleasant experience. I was treated with the utmost respect that it made me feel all the better about choosing Brooks’ as my lunch retreat that afternoon.
The atmosphere is chill, though grand, a tavern on one side, ice cream parlor on the other, restaurant throughout and a nice outdoor patio area for enjoying the Floridian sunshine, the restaurant has it all.
